Platinum Cup Spots Filling up Fast
Chico, CA (Aug 23, 2021) …. Night one of the Platinum Cup is almost full as we head into the 67th Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway. Numerous teams have filled out their entry form, sent them back in, and marked the box stating they want to race on Wednesday night, September 8th. It is FREE to enter the Platinum Cup, but each team must pre-enter the event. Wednesday is limited to the first 36 teams that send in their pre-entry form located at http://www.silverdollarspeedway.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/2021PlatinumCup.pdf
Once the Wednesday night roster is full at 36, any remaining late Wednesday entries will be bumped to Thursday night. The Speedway will post the Wednesday night roster as soon at it caps out at 36. The goal is to make each night at even as possible with the same number of cars. Rules for this event are also found at the link posted above.
Wednesday and Thursday night points are awarded to drivers. Points are awarded for qualifying, heat races and main event finishes. The top eight in points after each night are locked into Saturday nights A main event. The remaining drivers will be lined up from highest points to lowest and race in their designated consolation events. On Friday night, the top eight finishers in the B main event will transfer into Saturday nights finale.
A twist for drivers entered in the Wednesday night show, any driver, car combination of car and driver, on the first night may forfeit their points and run the second night, for mechanical, illness or other issue at the discretion and verified by promotor/officials.
Gold Cup single day reserved, and general admission tickets went on sale Sunday, August 15, 2021. For reserved seating you must call the office at 530-350-7275. The track office is open Monday through Thursday 10am to 4pm. Reserved tickets are not available online. Reserved seating includes the entire main grandstand and seating in the top half of the bleachers in Turn 1 and Turn 4. The four-day package is also still available.
General admission tickets are available by phone or online at www.silverdollarspeedway.com and include seating in the lower half of the bleachers in Turn 1 and Turn 4 only. These seats are on a first come first serve basis. Kids 11 and under are free on Wednesday and Thursday only.
All reserved and general admission tickets will also be available at the gate each night beginning at 5PM and from 9 AM to 4 PM daily in the ticket office at the track the week of Gold Cup.
Prices are as follows. Reserved Seating, Wed. $25, Thurs $30, Friday $45, and Saturday $55. General admission, Wed. $15, Thurs $20, Friday $30, and Saturday $40. Kids are free Wed and Thursday. Kids are $15 both Friday and Saturday.
Camping is still available for the Gold Cup week. Price to reserve your spot is $300. Please call the office to reserve your camping (530) 350-7275.
