Scelzi Will Return to Racing This Week at Silver Dollar Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – FRESNO, Calif. (Sept. 9, 2015) – Dominic Scelzi will return to his sprint car this week during a tripleheader at Silver Dollar Speedway.
Scelzi, who has been sidelined since sustaining a back injury on July 25, is set to compete at the quarter-mile oval in Chico, Calif., on Wednesday with the California Civil War Sprint Car Series before tackling the Gold Cup Race of Champion with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on Friday and Saturday.
“It has been a long month and a half away from racing for me,” he said. “I can’t wait to get back into a sprint car this week. I want to really thank everyone who has supported me during this time of recovery and hopefully we can pick up where we left off.”
Scelzi had earned 16 top-10 finishes in his previous 17 races prior to the crash in late July. He has competed at Silver Dollar Speedway six times this season, earning two top fives and four top 10s – including three straight.
“Silver Dollar Speedway is a fun track,” he said. “We’ve ran well there and picked up a podium finish earlier this season. The key is to put down a good qualifying lap early in the night to set ourselves up to start near the front at the end of the night.”
Scelzi finished 20th and 17th, respectively, during last year’s Gold Cup.
