CHICO, CA (10-1-10) - San Jose driver Tim Kaeding picked up his 53rd career main event win at Silver Dollar Speedway during the opening night of the 19th Annual Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals at Chico. Kaeding led all 30 laps piloting the Roth Motorsports #83. For the win, Kaeding collected $3,000. Tomorrow night will conclude the two-day event. The Saturday night race will go 40-laps and pay $6,000 to the winner. "It always feels good to come to Chico and do well," said Kaeding in victory lane. "It was a narrow and fast race track tonight. You definitely had to be up in the seat and hammer down." A nice total of 55 sprint cars kicked off Night One of the Fall Nationals.4 wide parade lap.Chasing Kaeding to the checkered flag was Chico's own Jonathan Allard. The driver of Morrie and Katie Williams #0 drove from his eighth starting spot to finish in second. "It was really good racing tonight up front. It's hard to beat Tim when he starts near the front but I hope we put on a show for the fans coming from the fourth row tonight." Third place went to Visalia's Steven Tiner. "I'll take third tonight, especially when you finish behind two guys that do this professionally for a living all year," said Tiner. "We had a stumble in the motor and my guys never gave up trying to fix it so I give them all the credit tonight."

Kyle Larson started in the ninth spot and finished fourth. The King of California Champion was followed by fifth place finishing Herman Klein. Placerville driver Jimmy Trulli had a top five car for most of the main event but with less than five laps to go a big puff of smoke came out from under the hood and he quickly dove to the infield and stopped the car. He was officially scored in 16th spot.

Nicole Miller started the night off by turning the fastest lap in qualifying. She was the 53rd driver to hit the track for qualifying. Miller went on to transfer out of the B main and was scored 23rd in the main event.

The hard charger of the main event went to Stephen Allard. The Chico driver originally started in 22nd but worked his way up to a sixth place finish. Allard and his team should be commended tonight. In qualifying, Allard flipped over while trying to avoid a car that came to a stop. The crew went to work and trashed to get the car back out and qualify. From there Allard transferred out of the heat race and into the main event.

Tim Kaeding wins night #1Another driver who did well was Shane Golobic. The Fremont charger started 18th and finished seventh. Golobic is coming off his strong performance at the Gold Cup in September.

Mason Moore brought the F & F Racing x1 home in the eighth spot while Sean Becker drove from 24th to ninth. Fair Oaks racer Chad Compton did a nice job by starting in the 20th spot and finishing 10th.

Cody Lamar continues to impress. The rookie driver was fourth quick in qualifying. He did not transfer out of his heat race but did go on to win the B feature. Lamar finished 22nd in the main event.

Central Point, OR driver Garen Linder dominated the 10 lap C main event. Hawaii driver Dean Freitas and Gold Hill, OR driver T.J. Winningham followed Linder.

Tim Kaeding led all eight laps to win the dash. Trulli came home second followed by Herman Klein and Steven Tiner.

Five heat races were run tonight with the high car count. Placerville ace Andy Gregg passed Willie Croft on the last lap to win heat one. Tim Kaeding led all 10 laps in heat two. In fact, if you add it up, Kaeding led for a total of 48 laps tonight and was never passed in any race he entered.

Jimmy Trulli won the third heat over Roger Crockett. Kyle Larson dominated heat four while Billy Wallace won the fifth and final heat. Wallace earned the right to start in the dash tonight but a motor problem forced him to finish in last. Wallace eventually scratched from the A main. This opened up a spot to the first non-transfer from the B main, which was Sean Becker.

Mike Henry walked away from a scary crash in the main event tonight. Other drivers getting upside down in the main event included Cody Lamar, Andy Gregg and Willie Croft.

Tomorrow night will conclude the racing year in 2010 at the speedway. Another large car count is expected and one driver will be $6,000 richer at the end of the 40-lap main event.
