CHICO, CA (8-27-10) - "This place (Silver Dollar Speedway) is very special to me and my family," said an emotional Randy McDaniel on the front stretch after he captured his fifth track title. Add in the two championships by his son and the family holds seven championships. "At times we would shy away from here and run the big money shows but this always felt like home and I am glad to win it again." Defending track champion Mark Abouzeid was the race winner. "I want to congratulate Randy on his championship," said Abouzeid. "I didn't have the year we were hoping for but we will be back stronger and better in 2011." It was Abouzeid's second win of the year. McDaniel and his family have been a big part of the Silver Dollar Speedway over the last 11-years.Randy crossed the line in fourth place. Wade Kennemore showcased his every growing driving talent with a strong second place finish. Kennemore finished third in the points. Former track champion Duane Cleveland finished in the third spot of the main event. Ryan McDaniel brought the family car home in the fifth spot. Chico's Darin Ruley finished sixth but did well enough this season to finish second in the points. Abouzeid and Cleveland each won their heat race. A total of nine cars started the final 15-lap main event of the season.

Heather Bartlett defends Championship by claiming her second."I didn't really have an idea if I was going for the championship or not at the start of this year," said Heather Bartlett. "But things fell into place and I am grateful for the opportunity my family gave me and here we are back on the front stretch." Bartlett might of finished the final main event of the year in second, but it was good enough for the track championship. The win went to Phil Marino, his fourth of the year. "I said a little prayer before the race that I could win tonight," said Marino. "There was some good competition here tonight and I am just excited to have won this race." Marino congratulated Bartlett on her second title and had thoughts about next year. "I just hope we can keep this strong field of cars together again for next year. It is really fun racign against all this close competition."

Bartlett finished in the second spot. Following her was Scott Rogers. It was a great battle all year long between Rogers and Bartlett. I was happy to see Scott win last week. He is a former champion and all around good guy. Corey Hall ran a solid race to finish in the fourth spot.

Brent Lawrence made a few starts this year and looks to be a solid contender in 2011. Marino and Rogers each won their heat race. A strong field of 16 cars started the 20-lap main event.
