Sprint Cars at the Silver Dollar Fair

The Great 48; Bright Lights and Big Stars
CHICO, Calif., May 7, 2025 – SLC Promotions is set to host a three-day 360 sprint car show during the upcoming Silver Dollar Fair in Chico. Starting Thursday May 22 and concluding Saturday May 24, this three-day event will put winged 360 sprint cars in front of massive crowds and a chance to bring new fans into the sport.
How it works. SLC Promotions has a limited time frame to put on these shows each night. At 9pm sharp, concerts will start in the Silver Dollar Pavillion, and part of this deal is to conclude racing before that so fans can move on towards the musical acts.
How will we get the Great 48? Drivers and teams need to register what night they want to race, either Thursday or Friday. Pick only one night per driver. Then after racing on your preferred night and earning points, all drivers will return on Saturday to race in heat events and features. A detailed breakdown of the format will be released soon. Thursday and Friday will be limited to only 24 drivers, giving us a total of 48 cars for the combined nights.
Why are we hosting this event? This gives all these teams and drivers a chance to race in front of packed grandstands each night. New people in the stands not familiar with our sport equals new opportunities for drivers to get new fans. Remember, we are the entertainment for thousands of fair people. Plus, the pictures of your car on track with the bright lights of the Ferris Wheel in the background are poster worthy. Following the races, enjoy the Fair. The food, the concerts, the thrill rides add to the excitement of this new event we are hosting.
Thursday and Friday prelims pay $2,000 to win and $300 to start. Saturday’s main event finale pays $5,000 to win and $500 to start.

Hobby Stocks will be joining the sprint cars on Thursday and Friday night. We will post a release about what is on the line for those talented drivers in an upcoming release. The Hobby Stocks DO NOT NEED to Register.
