David Tarter Memorial Coming Up Soon
CHICO, Calif., June 10, 2024…In just 19 days the Silver Dollar Speedway will host the 12th David Tarter Memorial. This year’s event will once again feature the stars and cars of the NARC 410 Sprint Car Series on Saturday night, June 29. Added to the show is the always entertaining and competitive Nor Cal Dwarf Cars.
The parents of David, Howard and Shelly Tarter, continue to lead the charge with acquiring extra money for the drivers who attend this event. The family raises money through t-shirts, hat, and sweatshirt sales, along with raffle prizes during the night of the race, and lap money sponsorship. The family also raises money for the Children’s Ward at Enloe Hospital in honor of David Tarter.
This year the family is also looking to add a financial incentive for 360 sprint car drivers to attend their son’s event. “David was always considered an “underdog” when he raced sprint cars,” said Howard Tarter. “We want some of those teams with less horsepower and finances to come out and compete at David’s race. We are hoping some fans or a few local business establishments want to sponsor a 360 bonus.”

Friday night June 28, the 16th edition of the Brownell / Herseth Classic is set to take place. The night will feature three divisions including 410 sprints, Hobby Stocks, and IMCA Sport Mods.
