Calling All California Sprint Car Drivers To Enter The Gold Cup

California Drivers Can Go for the Gold (Cup) at Silver Dollar Speedway

CHICO, Calif., July 27, 2022 — There’s lots of local incentive to compete in the September running of the 68th annual Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway. While the World of Outlaws drivers command center stage for this historic sprint car event, many fans come to see if a local driver can put together a perfect weekend and take the Saturday night 40-lap feature which pays the winner $25,000.

SLC Promotions is offering a package to encourage local teams to enter the Sept. 8-10 World of Outlaws sanctioned event. For a non-refundable $100 fee, lock in your car/driver registration by August 26 to receive:

• Waived World of Outlaws membership
• Four (4) three-day World of Outlaws arm bands priced at $120 each

Additionally, SLC Promotions is offering a winged 360 sprint car bonus. The top-finishing winged 360 team on Saturday night will receive a $2,000 bonus. Second place gets an additional$1,000, with third place snagging an extra $500.

“The goal of this local challenge is to stimulate interest with our local 410 and 360 sprint car teams,� said Brad Sweet of SLC Promotions. “If we get 64 cars entered, we’ll return to the legendary Gold Cup split-field where half the cars run Thursday and the other half Friday. It’s great for the competition and our fans. So, to the local teams – let’s do this, together! Get your registration form in by the Friday, August 26 deadline.�

RACING

The 68th running of the Gold Cup Race of Champions is a four-day event held Sept. 7-10, 2022 at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds in Chico, California. On Wednesday night Sept. 7, the top 32 Sprint Car Challenge Tour (SCCT) drivers and the Top 20 Hunt Wingless Magnetos drivers will compete. Thursday through Saturday, the World of Outlaws hit the famed, high-banked quarter-mile clay raceway. The winner of the 40-lap main event on Saturday night receives a $25,000 check.
