Chico, CA – (2-18-22) …As the 2022 racing season quickly approaches, we are excited to announce that fans can now purchase their grandstand tickets on-line at www.silverdollarspeedway.com. Earlier this month the SLC promotions group, led by Kyle Larson, Brad Sweet and Colby Copeland, released their 19-event schedule. Once at our website, click the tickets tab, or just follow this link https://www.eventsprout.com/event/silver-dollar-speedway-2022
The racing season gets started on March 4th and 5th with the annual Silver Cup Race of Champions. This year, the race is a tribute to former promoter John Padjen, who passed away during the offseason. Padjen’s family has been invited for a special Saturday night ceremony on the front stretch after qualifying. The popular winged 360 sprint cars and the traveling Dwarf Cars are set to entertain the crowd each night. A big car count is expected for both divisions. Saturday nights winged 360 sprint car main event winner will receive a staggering $4,000!
The Silver Cup will feature earlier start times, new merchandise, new food menu options, a wide assortment of drinks for the adults at the revamped beer booth. On Saturday March 5th, a Happy Hour at the beer booth from 3pm to 5pm with a local DJ is set to entertain fans who want to arrive early. The Speedway is also geared to host crowd interaction games during any down time, or track prep.
“I think fans will be pleasantly surprised at how we are trying to make the overall experience a better time,� said Brad Sweet of SLC Promotions. “We know the fans come for the racing, but we really want them leaving here looking forward to coming back to the next event because the entire night was fun, and the show was over at a decent hour.� Sweet went on to say, “After every event we will have a meeting to discuss what worked, what didn’t work and learn for our next event. Everything that we want to do isn’t feasible right out of the gate, but the framework is there, and we have big goals for the long run.�
Camping is available at the fairgrounds for both nights of racing at the Silver Cup. To reserve a spot please call the track office at (530) 966-4020. Cost is $50 per night. You can also just show up and pick a spot that hasn’t already be reserved. The Speedway will come through at some point of each day to collect camping money for those who did not call and reserve. Camping is only available on what’s called the old pit lane area over by the Silver Dollar Speedway RC track.
