Second Week in a Row Wet Weather Cancels Chico Races
(Chico, CA 3/27/19) …Relentless wet weather continues to saturate the grounds surrounding the Silver Dollar Speedway, forcing another cancellation for the second week in a row. The combination of rain and the lack of consecutive sunny days continues to leave the race track and pit area unable to use. With that said, this Friday night, March 29th, we have no other option but to cancel the races. “We can’t get any of the equipment near the track due to the drenched pit area,� said promoter Dennis Gage. “But with that said, the forecast looks promising for the following Friday night. Lowell and I are dedicated to getting equipment into the pit area next week and begin the process to dry out the surface and allow us to race.�
With the two consecutive rain outs, the first point show is now scheduled for Friday night, April 5th. The winged 360 sprints, Dwarf Cars and Street Stocks are scheduled to race.
