Chico, CA (March 28, 2018) …. This Friday night the winged sprint cars will begin their pursuit of a track champion for 2018. During the off-season the switch from 410’s to 360-winged sprint cars sent a few shock waves through the racing world. However, the decision was based on the availability of more 360 sprint cars available to compete at the Silver Dollar Speedway. This will garner bigger car counts and better racing for our strong core of racing fans.
Leading up to this Friday night we are excited to unveil the weekly purse at Chico based on a 20-car main event.
- $1500 , 2. $1000 , 3. $700 , 4. $550 , 5. $450 , 6. $350 , 7. $250 , 8. $200 , 9-20. $150
If a team wants to compete at Marysville Raceway the next night, there will be a 20 percent bonus in play. This season, there are nine double header weekends between a Chico Friday night point race and a Saturday night Maryville point race. The 20 percent bonus will be added to the Marysville pay out. For example, if a driver competes at Chico on Friday and wins, then that person wins $1500. If that same team/driver race Marysville the next night and win, their pay will be increased. Marysville pays $1500 to win, but with the bonus in play that driver would win $1800 because of the dual track bonus.
Also, while Chico and Marysville each pay $150 to start, if a team/driver competes at both tracks they will be guaranteed to make $400 for the combined weekend payout instead of $300. Basically, if you run both tracks you are guaranteed $200 to start.
Racing is set to begin this Friday night, March 30th.
