Riebes Auto Parts Point Race #8 This Friday

CHICO, CA (6-8-15) - The annual Riebes Auto Parts night at the Silver Dollar Speedway takes place this Friday night, June 12. Five divisions of race cars are scheduled to compete. The 410 sprint cars, dirt modifieds, street stocks, hobby stocks and midget lites set to race on the famous quarter-mile clay oval.

This Friday night, June 12th, the pit gate for the competitors will open at 4 PM. The front gate for the fans will open at 6 PM. Racing is slated to start at 7 PM. Adult general admission is $13.00, juniors and seniors are $11.00, kids $6.00 and under five are free.

Roseville�s Sean Becker holds a 10-point advantage over Chico�s Jonathan Allard in the 410 sprint car point battle. Each driver has secured one Friday night win this season. Coming off his win this past Friday night, Keith Bloom sits in the third spot. Following Bloom are two youngsters. Rowdy McClenon and Michael Ing are the faces of the future for our sport. Each will try and secure a top five finish this Friday night.

The IMCA Dirt Modified championship is a three car race at the moment. Ryan McDaniel leads Duane Cleveland by just one point. Mark Abouzeid sits seven points back of McDaniel in third. However, just past those drivers sits a four car battle for fourth. Dan Dozier, Nick Vidovich, James Hite and Ray Trimble are only separated by two points. It is as close as it can get.

Another close battle rages in the street stock division. Eddie Hammett holds a one-point edge over Clinton Earl. Richard Workman and Gary Newman are tied for third. Both drivers are 13-points behind Hammett. Mike Slightom holds down the fifth spot. Interestingly enough, no driver in the top five has won a main event during the four prior point races.

Brain Cooper is four for four in hobby stock main event racing. Brian Compton is close on his heal, yet, still sits 10-points back in the championship. David Cooper and David Pierce are tied for third. Todd Cooper is all by himself in fifth place.
