Forsberg, Becker and Bumgarner Vie for Championship

CHICO, CA (8-21-12) - Three sprint car drivers will try and win it all this Friday night, August 24, at the Silver Dollar Speedway. Auburn's Andy Forsberg, Oroville's Sean Becker and Chico's Brad Bumgarner all will have a chance to be the 2012 Wells Fargo Sprint Car track champion. Forsberg leads Becker by just four-points. Bumgarner will need a little help but still has a fighter's chance sitting in the third spot 17-points back of Forsberg. This is it race fans, the final Friday night point race of the year!

Other divisions will be on hand as we will crown a wingless champion and dirt modified champion. The street stocks will have one more race on Thursday night, Sept 6th. Rowdy McClenon leads the wingless championship by 22-points over Brett Youngman. Randy McDaniel has already wrapped up the dirt modified championship with an insurmountable lead of 38-points. Jake Vantol is all but wrapped up the street stock title by winning both main events last weekend. Vantol has a 31-point lead over Bill Patterson.

All of this racing will take place during point race #15 presented by Cherry St. Mini Storage and Pepsi. The 6ft. tall Pepsi trophy will be on the line for all divisions. We will have numerous prizes to give away to kids in attendance.

Front grandstand gate opens at 6pm with racing at 7pm. General adult admission is $12.00 while junior and seniors are $10.00. Children ages 6-11 are $6.00 and kid five and under are free. For more information contact the track office at 530-350-7275 or on our website at www.silverdollarspeedway.com

BJ Martin holds a firm grip on the David Tarter Rookie of the Year Award over Chico's Craig Swim. As of now, 38-points separate the two. It will be the final chance of the year to see the Friday night regulars like Kenny Allen, Michael Tarter, Mason Moore, Bud Walberg and Tyler Wolf. Jason York is also scheduled to attend after sitting out half the season because of a racing injury.
