Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial Returns Back Home to Silver Dollar Speedway
CHICO, Calif. April 27, 2026 – The 35th edition of the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial is back at the Silver Dollar Speedway on May 9th. The popular event started at Silver Dollar Speedway in 1991. The original winner was Jason McMillen. Since then, the race had been a marque event at Chico. In 2021, the race migrated to Placerville Speedway for a multitude of reasons. However, the family and friends who continue to organize the Dave Bradway Jr. decided it was time to bring it back home to Chico. SLC Promotions was eager to add the Bradway event back onto this year’s schedule. Not only did SLC Promotions want the race, but they also upped the ante by offering a staggering $10,000 to win the 40-lap feature event on Saturday May 9th. As always, there will be bonus lap money for the top three during the 40-lap main event.
SLC Promotions will host the Champions Classic presented by Fry’s Metals on Friday night May 8th. This event will pay tribute to former winners of the Dave Bradway Jr. event along with local track heroes who helped pave the way from past to present. The event will host 410-winged sprint cars, Sport Mods, and Rental Guys Hobby Stock first point race of the season.
The NARC King of the West 410 sprint cars will headline the Saturday Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial on May 9th. The B.C.R.A Lightning Sprints will companion the NARC stars and cars on Saturday. Heat race trophies, along with contingency prizes will be awarded throughout Saturday nights tribute to Dave Bradway Jr Memorial.
Lap sponsorships and other opportunities are still available by contacting Karen Bradway-Tuccelli at (916) 749-0556 or e-mail at kaytee17@comcast.net
On June 21, 1987, the sprint car community mourned the loss of 28-year-old driver Dave Bradway Jr. Known affectionately as, “Junior”, this talented sprint car champion passed away after a crash that took place at the Skagit Speedway in Washington. Junior was a star on and off the racetrack. His popularity continued to rise as he won races on the track while being a jokester and loyal friend off the track. After his passing, there seemed to be a void that was left in Northern California sprint car racing. In 1991, many friends and family members came up with the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial to honor Junior. Some 35 years later, this race continues to be one of the crown jewels for the NARC King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series.
CAMPING: Overnight camping is available for each night of racing and costs $50 per night. As with the past few seasons, camping is only available on pit road or over by the RC Track near Costco. Please pay at the pit gate or a representative from SLC Promotions will come to collect the money.
