Final Three Nights Approach at Chico

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="400"] Photo by Steven Cox [sprintcarphotos.com][/caption]CHICO, CA (8-10-11) - Wells Fargo point championship racing continues this Friday night, August 12, with four racing divisions and a push towards immortality. Drivers and teams are geared to make the final lunge towards greatness as only three more nights remain in the 2011 racing season at Chico. The final three nights will have a big impact on who has what it takes to become a champion and be remembered forever in the history books at Silver Dollar Speedway. Point race #13 is presented by Riebes Auto Parts. Riebes Auto Parts is our official auto parts store. As usual, they will be throwing out Jelly Belly's and giving away prizes to our race fans.

Adult general admission to the auto races this Friday night is $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for seniors and juniors. Children are $6.00. Front gates open at 6 pm with racing slated to start at 7 pm. Racing on this night will include 410 winged sprints, dirt modifieds, street stocks and the final appearance of the Dwarf cars.

The talk of the sprint car world has been Redding's Tyler Wolf. With his first career victory two weeks ago, Wolf claimed Andy Forsberg better look out because, "this Wolf is hungry and ready to take a bite out of him." Wolf holds a three-point lead over Forsberg as the two will settle the score this Friday night. Forsberg gave Wolf props but also added, "I give the kid credit. He showed he can win a race, but, does he have what it takes to win a championship."

There should be an influx of sprint car teams this Friday. If you own a 410 winged sprint car this is the only place to race in California until the Gold Cup. McMahan Motorsports and also Kenny Allen have committed to race this Friday. Other King of the West drivers have expressed interest in the upcoming final three nights of racing.

Chico's Richard Papenhausen and Mark Abouzeid have catapulted to the top of the dirt modified division all year. Both championship racers are going through a friendly rivalry that has Papenhausen ahead by just three points. It has been a pleasure to watch these two drivers wheel their dirt chariots around the speedway this year. If you like modifieds, then this is the place to be Friday night. Extra competitors are calling the office and inquiring about the final three nights of racing.

The street stock division has constantly been holding strong with good car counts and close racing. Chico's Kevin Lesch continues to show the way in the point's battle. Lesch holds a 39-point advantage over Kevin Ward. It's the biggest point lead out of any of our divisions. Even with the big lead, anything can still happen. If Lesch should falter and not make a main event, Ward could close in a hurry to tighten the point battle.

The popular Dwarf Cars return for their final appearance of the year. The fans love this division's ultra-competitive racing. Throughout the year when the Dwarf Cars show up they bring a good following of fans and an extra excitement to the track. We are looking forward to watching them buzz around the quarter-mile clay oval speedway.
