CHICO, CA (6-21-10) - The Feather Falls Casino winged 410-sprint cars return to Silver Dollar Speedway this Friday night, June 25. It will mark the first time in the month of June that the Friday night winged warriors will race at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds. The night will be sponsored by Riebes Auto Parts, who are also the official parts supply store of Placerville and Silver Dollar Speedway. Joining the sprint cars will be the dirt modifieds, street stocks and ASCS midgets.

Front grandstand gate will open at 6 pm with racing slated to start at 7 pm. General adult admission into the grandstand is $12.00, seniors and juniors $10.00 and children $5.00.

Tonight will mark the fourth point race of the year for the winged 410-sprints. With so few races up to this point the champion point battle is as close as it has ever been this late in the month of June. Tyler Wolf and Mason Moore sit tied for the division lead with 124 points each. Andy Forsberg sits just one point back in third. Rookie driver Kenny Allen is fourth and just eight points back of the lead. Jason York is in the fifth spot just ten points back of Moore and Wolf. In fact, if you scroll through the top ten, only 21-points separate first to tenth. Another factor in the close knot points battle could be the lack of wins in the top ten. No driver in the top ten has won a main event this year on the Friday night racing series. Chico's Jonathan Allard has two wins but missed one night of racing and sits 11th in points. Oregon's Roger Crockett has the other main event win this season.

Coming off his main event win last Friday night, Marysville driver Randy McDaniel now holds a six-point lead in the dirt modified division. McDaniel is a four-time champion of the speedway and in three starts this year has not finished outside the top five in main event action. His nearest challenger is Darin Ruley of Chico. Ruley is a consistent driver in search of his first modified main event win. Wade Kennemore sits in the third place. As of now the championship is a three horse race. Kennemore is 15-points back. However, after him there is a large drop to fourth. Chico's Mark Abouzeid is 45 points behind McDaniel. Abouzeid does have one win this year but a mechanical early in the year might have ruined his chances for a repeat championship. Jeff Olschowka is in the fifth spot. He is one the most versatile drivers at the speedway when it comes to the modifieds and street stocks.

Heather Bartlett continues her charge towards championship number two. Bartlett won the street stock main event last week and looks to get back into victory lane this Friday night. Bartlett's nearest challenger in the points is also a good friend. Redding Scott Rogers is ten points back of Bartlett. Rogers is looking for his first win of the year. Orland's Jake Vantol is a driver who is closing in on a win soon at the speedway. Vantol brought out a new machine on Friday and it proved to be very competitive. Cottonwood driver Richard Workman holds down the fourth spot while Matt Magenheimer rounds out the top five.

The ASCS Midgets return to the speedway after just a two week hiatus. The group last raced on June 11. Six midgets showed up and Britton Bock was able to dethrone Dillon Silverman for the main event win. Silverman, resides in Chico, and had won the first two races of the year.
