CHICO, CA (6-17-10) - The tradition of fireworks and auto racing will return to the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds on Independence Day this year and the grand holiday event is just around the corner. On Sunday July 4th, the Silver Dollar Speedway will host the firebreathing Golden State Challenge Sprint Car Series and Street Stocks in an event that will conclude with a giant fireworks display on the infield of the speedway and over the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds.Handy Racing Promotions Incorporated is once again teaming up with the local business community to provide advance ticket sales for this special event. On July 4th spectators can purchase tickets at the gate beginning at 5 p.m. but those wishing to get their tickets in advance and avoid the long lines can do so by visiting one of six area locations that will begin selling advance tickets as early as Saturday, June 19. Ticket sales will continue at these locations over the next two weeks or until the limited supply of special advance tickets is depleted.

In Chico race fans can purchase tickets at four different locations. Riebes Auto Parts at 2432 Cohasset Drive will have tickets for purchase as well as their location at 175 E. 20th Street in Chico. Chico Mobile Air Conditioning will be another outlet for tickets in town. The fourth location in town will be Witherow Motorsports at 2501 South Whitman in Chico.

Additional locations with tickets on sale just outside of Chico include Napa Auto Parts at 402 Walker Street in Orland and Aubrees' Salon at 605 Birch Street in Paradise Adult tickets will be on sale at all located for $18. Juniors will be $12 and all children 11 and under are free for the holiday event.

The July Fourth event at Silver Dollar Speedeway will feature California's best 410 sprint car drivers of the prestige Golden State Challenge Sprint Car Series together with the always exciting Street Stocks. On this special night the gates at Silver Dollar Speedway will open one hour earlier than normal at 5 p.m. with time trials starting at 6:00. The event marks two nights of race at the speedway. On Saturday night, July 3, the Feather Falls Casino championship series will be on hand featuring 410 sprint cars, wingless sprints, Ltd Late Models and ASCS Midgets. Admission for the Saturday night program will only be available at the gate. Advance ticket sales are strictly for the July Fourth event.
