Tarter Memorial Set For June 16

Rescheduled David Tarter Memorial Set for June 16
CHICO, Calif., May 31, 2023…After seeing mother nature wash away the originally scheduled David Tarter Memorial, SLC Promotions and the Tarter family agreed to not let that deter the chance to honor one of our own. It is with great pleasure that Silver Dollar Speedway will host the 11th David Tarter Memorial on Friday night, June 16th. “We are extremely happy to reschedule this race in honor of David and the Tarter family,” said Colby Copeland of SLC Promotions. “We looked at all possibilities and this date worked the best for the family and the Speedway.”
The addition of the Tarter name means extra incentives for the winged 360 sprint car teams racing that night. The winner of the 35-lap winged sprint car main event will now receive a minimum $3,500. The Tarter family has collected lap money for this event to help increase the win. On top of that, the family is paying $50 per lap to the leader of the race. Theoretically, if a driver leads all 35-laps, they will receive an extra $1,750 on top of the win money.
Other bonus awards include $500 for fast time, $200 for hard charger in main event, $200 for the hard luck award, $100 gift card from Petersen Motorsports to the driver with the most but the least. Tiner Hirst Ent. is giving each heat race winner a sleeve of tear offs and SG Composite will supply the first roll over victim with carbon fiber wing caps.
As always, the Tarter’s will raffle off some great prizes for the fans to win including the custom David Tarter helmet. The Family will also have this year’s t-shirt and hats for sale during the event.
The Crate Sprint Cars and the Tri State Pro Stocks are also on the card and part of the excitement for the newly rescheduled David Tarter Memorial. “Over the off season we wanted to give the chance for some other forms of racing divisions to experience the magic of competing at the Silver Dollar Speedway,” said track announcer Troy Hennig. “I have talked to both groups, and they realize with the change in schedule and the Tarter name now on the event, they understand the tradition and importance of this event and are happy to be a part of the show.”

RACE INFORMATION
The pit gate will open at 2 PM. Pill draw at 4:30 PM. Mandatory Pit meeting 5 PM. Mud pack 5:30 PM. SLC Promotions will have a strict time schedule in helping move the show along in a timely manner.
RACE HAULERS
Teams will enter the pit area using Martin Luther King Pkwy and turning onto the access road by Costco. Follow that road back into the Fairgrounds and the normal pit entrance.
