Two Big Nights of Racing Set for This Weekend
CHICO, Calif. June 2, 2025 – SLC Promotions will host two nights of dirt track racing at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, now equipped with new Musco Lighting. Dirt track racing fans can rejoice with a diverse range of race cars competing over the two back-to-back nights of racing.
On Friday night, June 6th, the speedway will host the 17th Brownell / Herseth Classic. The event will feature 410-winged sprint cars along with Hobby Stocks and IMCA Sport Mods. This race serves as an annual tribute to Bill Brownell and Tommy Herseth, who contributed significantly to the dirt tracking industry in Chico.
On Saturday night, June 7th, it’s the return of the popular David Tarter Memorial. For the 13th time, we will honor and remember David with the 35-lap, $5,035.00 to win the NARC410 Sprint Car main event. “It is an honor to continue to host races to remember individuals who were so instrumental with racing culture at the Silver Dollar Speedway,” said Colby Copeland of SLC Promotions. The Bay Cities Racing Association Lightning Sprints will accompany the NARC410 sprint cars on Saturday.

The pit gate is set to open at 2 p.m. each day for the competitors. On Friday night, the front grandstand gate will open at 5pm. Driver pit meeting set for 5pm. Hot laps are scheduled for 5:45pm, sprint car qualifying 6:10pm, with opening ceremonies beginning at 6:45pm. Heat racing will start right after the opening ceremony.
On Saturday night, the front grandstand will open at 4 p.m. The driver pit meeting is set for 5:15pm. Hot laps are scheduled for 6pm with NARC410 sprint car qualifying at 6:15pm. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 6:45pm. The first NARC410 heat race scheduled for 7pm.

TICKETS

CAMPING
Starting Thursday afternoon, camping at the Fairgrounds will open. Camping is a first come, first serve opportunity this weekend. We are using the pit road area by the pit gate entrance. No camping inside is allowed. A member of SLC Promotions will come by your motor home to receive payment. The cost is $50 per night. Please do not stop by the fairground office.
STREAMING
Both nights of racing will be broadcast on the streaming service Flo Racing.
