Auto Racing Returns to the Silver Dollar Fair
CHICO, Calif., May 23, 2023…This Sunday, May 28th, the sprint cars, and hobby stocks will get a rare opportunity to do something that hasn’t been seen since 2018, race under the neon background lights of the Silver Dollar Fair. In conjunction with SLC Promotions and the Silver Dollar Fair, the Sunday night dirt track race is returning and there is a lot of electricity in the air.
Not only is it exciting to race during the Fair and in front of a large crowd of enthusiast fans, but this race marks the first time since late September 2022, that either the sprint cars or hobby stocks have raced at the famous quarter-mile clay oval Silver Dollar Speedway.
The winner of the sprint car main event will walk away with the $3,000 winner’s check and a one-of-a-kind Silver Dollar Fair Belt Buckle presented by the Silver Dollar Fair. Joining the sprint cars are the local hobby stocks who put on a great show for the large crowd expected.
RACE CAR TEAMS
For this race we are going to have you come in through and exit out of a gate located in the middle of the back stretch pit area. Haulers will turn on Martin Luther King Pkwy and then enter the opposite side of where the Tractor Supply Company building is located. There will be signs directing you on where to turn and where to come in through the back side of the Fairgrounds.
RACE INFORMATION
The pit gate will open at 2 PM. Pill draw at 4:30 PM. Pit meeting 5 PM. Mud pack 5:30 PM. National Anthem 7 PM. Racing starts directly after National Anthem.
FAN INFORMATION
Adult prices for entrance to the Sunday Fair are $15.00 (adults), Seniors and Veteran/Military $12.00, Kids $5.00 (6-12), Children 5 and under are FREE. Parking is $10.00. With paid admission to the Fair, the Sunday night races are included as a FREE show for the fans.
