Silver Dollar Speedway Gets Approved for the Sunday Night Showdown
(Chico, CA 7/19/20)…In an on-going effort between the Silver Dollar Speedway and the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds to work within the State guidelines, we are happy to announce that this Sunday night, July 26th, the famed quarter-mile clay oval speedway will host auto racing again.
Winged 360 sprint cars, street stocks, and hobby stocks are the three divisions allowed to race Sunday night. All three divisions will race for a normal purse.
Pit gate opens at 3 PM, cars on the track at 6 PM. The track will collect a $45 flat pit fee per person. Registered members will get a free 2021 membership to offset the $5.
While the track’s racing surface will be used, the grandstands and pit bleachers are off limits. The Speedway will host this race with no fans. This means a maximum of six team members per car are allowed and they must check in at the same time. No personal vehicles or guests allowed in the pits. No exceptions to this rule.
If you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 stay home. Please disinfect all equipment before arriving. All participants must wear a face mask. All participants must practice social distancing. All participants must wash hands regularly. More guidelines will be released later this week.
Thanks to the generous support from our on-line streaming partner FloRacing, Sunday’s race will offer a full purse once again to the competitors. With social distancing in full effect we recommend fans to watch from the comfort of their homes at www.FloRacing.com. Please visit that website for more details on how to order this event. The streaming service is the best way to catch the action while not being able to get to the track in person.
