King Me!
The King of California Golden State 410-sprint car series comes to a close this Friday and Saturday night at Silver
Dollar Speedway. The 22-race schedule ends in dramatic fashion with high car counts expected and extra prizes for
drivers and fans. On Saturday night, July 26, a new champion will be crowed the King of California on the front
straight.

 

Golden State Challenge Series set for big finale weekend this
Friday & Saturday
An exciting weekend of competition is on tap as the Golden State Challenge King of California Series will put an end
to the 2008 racing season this Friday & Saturday with the annual two-night finale at the Silver Dollar Speedway in
Chico. A big weekend is expected with extra money and special items on the line beginning with Friday’s festivities
that will pay $4,000 to win the A-main, courtesy extra money being kicked in by Specialized Parts Planet.

Larson scores second Civil War Series victory at Silver Dollar
Speedway in round #8
Elk Grove’s Kyle Larson became the first repeat winner of the 2008
Hoosier Racing Tires Civil War Series Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. In the eighth round of the 15
race series, Larson led all but six laps of the 30-lap feature event to pick up his second straight victory on the
banked quarter mile track aboard the Vertullo Racing #83v sprint car.

Tim Kaeding Returns and Wins at Chico
New car, new team and the same result. Tim Kaeding won the
30-lap King of California Golden State Series main event on Saturday night at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. It
was Kaeding's first start aboard the Roth Motorsports #83jr and things could not of turned out better. Mark Abouzeid won the 20-lap dirt modified main event. It was his fourth win of the
year out of six starts during the Feather Falls Casino championship series.

Allard, Hirst and
Olschowka Winners at Chico
Chico's Jonathan Allard won his second 410
sprint car main event of the season during the Feather Falls Casino Friday night
championship series. Kyle Hirst was the winner in the wingless main
event. Jeff Olschowka won an action packed street stock main event. The
night was sponsored by Moore Insurance and Financial Services, Inc. and
Scrubs Car Wash of Chico. Racing will continue on Saturday night with the
King of California Golden State Series along with the dirt modifieds.

Golden State Challenge - King of California Series
How Sweet It Is
Brad Sweet was coming back home to Northern California for a
quick weekend get-away from his Indiana residence and to recharge his batteries for the upcoming USAC non-wing
sprint week. He was also scheduled to drive the Rod Tiner #83 Shark Racing Engines winged sprint car for two nights
of racing at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. Sweet entered the weekend with two career sprint car wins at Chico. Both
of them came in a 360 sprint car when he won both nights of a two day show.

Tony Richards Wins First Career Non-wing Sprint Main
It took Tony Richards three years and 26 races at Silver Dollar Speedway to get his first
career main event win at Silver Dollar Speedway. The win was exciting for the fans and the driver. “I've been trying
to get this first one for awhile,” said Richards in victory lane. When asked about changing his driving line in turn
three he responded by saying, “I heard him up on the top and I was running the bottom, so the next lap I went to try
it out and liked it a lot.” Richards also won the second heat race, giving him a sweep during the night. A total of
21 drivers competed during the Saturday night presentation.

Brad Sweet Wins on July
4th at Chico
Brad Sweet returned to his home state of
California and won the 25-lap 410 winged sprint car main event at Silver
Dollar Speedway on July 4th. Sweet, now residing in Indiana and driving
for Kasey Kahne Racing with USAC, grew up in Northern California and
came home this weekend to not only visit with family and friends but
also to drive the Rod Tiner / Shark Racing Engines #83.

Silver Dollar Speedway
Gregg Holds off Allard for Exciting Win at Chico
Placerville driver Andy Gregg scored his first career 410 sprint car main
event victory Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway. Gregg held off a charging Jonathan Allard to get the win. As good as the 410 winged main event finish was the wingless main event was better.
Marc Zieske led the main event as the white flag waived. However, he would not be the first car to the checkered.
Going into the final lap Bloom Jr. passed Zieske going through turns one and two. Bloom Jr. then drove
deep into turn three and beat Zieske to the finish line. Steve Hammett won an exciting street stock main event.
