Tim Kaeding garners Friday victory
Tim Kaeding showed why he was named the "King of California" this year with a crowd raising victory during the second night of preliminary action in the 49th annual Gold Cup Race of Champions on John Padjen’s Silver Dollar Speedway.

Aboard the Cowen Motorsports 7T Eagle, the former Silver Dollar Speedway track titlist and 2002 Golden State Challenge champion of San Jose held off charges from some of the world’s best drivers to garner a victory in the 30-lap preliminary A-feature and insure a top starting spot in the big 40-lap feature Saturday night.

Hays will race at Texas Motor Speedway
Destiny Hays is confident. The 19-year-old California female sprint car racer will face off against the sport’s premier drivers Thursday, Sept. 12 and Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track during the third annual O’Reilly Texas Showdown featuring the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series.

Hays has completed her first full season of racing 410-cubic inch sprint cars, finishing ninth in the point standings at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif. She has faced the likes of 16-time Pennzoil World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser before and is looking forward to her first appearance in the Lone Star State.
