Oregon's
Roger Crockett uses patience to post Pacific Sprint Cup victory The annual Pacific Sprint Cup is the highlight event of the 13-race Civil War sprint car series that travels to four different California tracks between March and October. While the series pays more than $20,000 in championship funds to the top drivers of the season-ending point standings, the Pacific Sprint Cup is the most lucrative event of the campaign as it boasts a purse of $50,000 and awards $3,000 to the winner. Since it began six years ago, the Pacific Sprint
Cup has not had a repeat winner and this year is no exception as Crockett
becomes the sixth different driver to win this prestigious event, a race that
appeared as if second place would be the outcome for the former series champion
until the waning laps. Furr
flies to Watsonville win; Outlaws arrive here today Following five straight single-digit finishes and a late flat tire and crash that kept him from winning the Harvest Classic, Furr dominated Tuesday’s "A" Feature at Watsonville Speedway. "I’m just really glad to get a win in
California for all the fans out here," said Furr, who lives in Pleasanton,
CA. "I love the crowds out here. This will give us a little momentum
heading to Chico (the 49th Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar
Speedway), but the big thing for me is winning so close to home tonight." |
