46th Annual Gold Cup finale tonight
The odds of winning a major Motorsports event twice are less than good, but Ohio's Jac Haudenschild has his sights set on a second consecutive Gold Cup title at Silver Dollar Speedway.

Haudenschild pocketed the top prize of $20,000 last year in his first quest of the 46-year-old event. The "Wild Child" will be joined by over 70 other winged sprint car teams in tonight's battle for the gold.

Entering the fourth and final day of the "Fastest Four Days in California' there are still many special events leading up to tonight's big Gold Cup Race of Champions.

At the noon hour those of you who have taken up residence here at the Silver Dollar Fairgound will want to make your way over towards the pit gate area of the campground, also known as "the party zone" or best recognized as the only location at the Gold Cup Race of Champions where you can get your Christmas Tree flocked...nothing like getting a head start on the holiday season.

Gold Cup Added as Part of World Challenge Dash
KNOXVILLE, IA- Less than three weeks after Randy Hannagan of San Jose, Calif., took the checkered flag and $5,000 in the Kele & Associates Australian/American Challenge Dash during the Amoco Knoxville Sprint Car Nationals, Kele & Associates is proud to announce that the Challenge Dash is expanding for the year 2000 and beyond. According to Roger Johnson of the Memphis, Tenn.-based sponsor, "We at Kele & Associates are pleased to have reached an agreement with Knoxville Raceway on a plan to expand the dash into a true World Challenge, involving New Zealanders and Canadians in addition to sprint car racers from Australia and the United States. And we are very pleased to kick-off our international qualifying program at the September 15-18, 1999, Gold Cup Race of Champions event at John Padjen's Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California."
