CHICO, CA (3-20-13) - This Saturday night the nationally recognized World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series returns to Silver Dollar Speedway for the annual Mini Gold Cup. Before the green flag waves to the best drivers in the nation, area singer-songwriter Cynthia Renee will present the National Anthem to what is anticipated to be a near capacity crowd at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds in Chico, California.
Saturday's event marks the second time Renee has performed at Silver Dollar Speedway. She performed the National Anthem for the final night of the Gold Cup Race of Champions back in September following several appearances during 2012 at Placerville Speedway and Calistoga Speedway. Since that time, Renee's music career has begun to flourish, much thanks to the strong support of the Northern California racing community that has welcomed her in applauding fashion.
"The area racing community has given me great support over the last year as I focused on going forward with my solo music career," said Renee, who sang the National Anthem for the first time publicly at Placerville Speedway 20 years ago before leaving the area to follow her education. "I always believe in never forgetting those who helped you along your journey. The racing community is one of the most dedicated groups I have ever met and its always a pleasure to see them and perform for them."
Since last fall, Renee's music career has progressed greatly with the release of her original song "Where are You Now" produced by Bill Bentley Studios that is now available on iTunes and Amazon.com and has been accepted by KLOVE Radio submissions. Additionally, she has recently completed another original titled "The Journey" and has recently announced several live appearances in El Dorado and Sacramento County.
Among her upcoming events include seven different appearances at Sienna Restaurant in El Dorado Hills starting on May 4th and spanning through July. In addition, she will perform at the Annual 4-H Round Up Chili Cook Off Fundraiser in Placerville. She will also be performing three shows at the 2013 El Dorado County Fair in June. Renee is slated to perform the National Anthem at select Placerville Speedway events and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West event in Roseville this October.
Since she was 10 years old, Renee has had a passion for performing. While earning her way to her Juris Doctor Degree at Lincoln Law School she continued to indulge her passion for both music and theater. Renee has performed on the university stage while attending Vanguard University and locally she played significant roles at various community theater venues.
"Music is my passion, it always has been," said Renee. "I love performing and I love singing and I am at a time in my life when I am working on making it a priority. I want to thank Silver Dollar Speedway for inviting me to perform for this great event."
Renee has appeared on Sacramento area television and radio. She has recently worked with Foothill 7 Television performing voiceovers. Last year she auditioned for the NBC Television show "The Voice" and has performed at the Capitol Christian Center as well as donated time performing at area senior homes.

"It's a pleasure to have Cynthia Renee back to Silver Dollar Speedway this Saturday night," said Troy Hennig, Media Director for Silver Dollar Speedway. "She is a great performer with an amazing voice. It's a great way to kick off a big night of racing with the best drivers in the nation."
