IMCA Modified Series
CHICO, CA (1-23-13) - Northern California Dirt Tracks will see a new travelling open wheel tour in 2013, one that will take advantage of the grassroots of dirt modified competition. The tour's official name is the Nor-Cal Challenge IMCA Modified Series. Petaluma Speedway General Manager Rick Faeth modeled the schedule of the tour to fit within the confines of four Northern California facilities. A total of eight events are scheduled for the inaugural season with Chico's Silver Dollar, Antioch Speedway, Petaluma Speedway, and the new Stockton Dirt Track hosting two events each. The success of this tour will harness upon a common dependable rules package, hence the utilization of the IMCA rules will be employed. All competitors must comply with IMCA rules and only IMCA approved (stamped) Hoosier Tires will allowed.
The tour will be run and officiated by whichever track it is at for that event. Each track will payout the competitors directly that raced at their event and at season's end there will be a minimum $2,000 points fund payout to the top three points finishers.
The purse structure for the tour will be:
Semi-main competitors will earn $50 per non-transferring car. Transferring cars will get the guaranteed $150 starting money.
Due to the early season and late season race dates at Silver Dollar Speedway only tour points will be awarded and not track or region points.
