CHICO, CA (9-7-12) - Misty Castleberry is no longer just a Marysville Raceway Park Champion. After Friday night, she can now add a championship at Silver Dollar Speedway to her expanding resume. "A lot of people just thought I couldn't be successful outside of Marysville," said Castleberry. "I guess we proved them wrong." She won four of the seven main events this year in route to her driving title at Chico. The winner of the race was Jason Clayton. "I got up to Jason and I give him credit I couldn't pass him," said Castleberry. Clayton attributed his solid year to the passing of his mom. "We lost mom earlier this year but she was riding shotgun with me tonight," said Clayton. With the win, Clayton moved ahead of James Foster for second. Clayton beat Foster by one point for second. Shaun Merritt and Hunter Merritt rounded out the top five of the championship. Following Clayton and Castleberry at the finish was Shaun Merrit. James Foster finished in the fourth spot and Steven Cook was fifth. A total of 15 mini stocks appeared during the final race of the 2012 season at Chico.
